Guildford Public School

Guildford Public School, established in 1915, is committed to providing quality education to a diverse and multicultural community. The school is located on a large block close to Guildford Railway Station and has a strong community profile and history in the Holroyd Municipality. Approximately 82% of our 386 students come from non-English speaking backgrounds.

At Guildford Public School we strive to cater for the individual differences of all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 across academic, social, cultural and sporting endeavours. We place particular and explicit emphasis on English and Mathematics, with extended literacy sessions delivered daily across all classes. We offer Reading Recovery, as well as enrichment for talented students.

At Guildford, the library is a strong centre of learning where students are given valuable opportunities to extend their knowledge and develop higher order thinking skills. Students have computer learning opportunities in their classrooms as well as specialised lessons in our own well equipped computer room. Technology, Performing Arts and integrated subjects of learning, as well as supportive student welfare programs are consistently delivered by a talented and dedicated staff.

Students participate in a wide range of learning experiences including Early Literacy Initiatives, English as a Second Language, University NSW Competitions, Spelling Bee, Dance Group, Choir, Debating, Multicultural Public Speaking, Visual Arts competitions, PSSA and various extra curricula initiatives.  Our Annual School Concert is an exciting highlight where every student becomes a star.
